The Loop & Hoodie team – Dan, Travis and myself – would like to wish all of our readers and supporters Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

You might have noticed that it’s been a long time since we last posted. Production on Loop & Hoodie has been on something of a hiatus since this past summer. While we have been working on things “behind the scenes”, each member of our creative team has faced a number of personal challenges that have impacted our time. Careers, family, house moves and more have affected our availability to work on Loop & Hoodie.

For me and my family, the second half of 2013 was very difficult. My mother-in-law fell seriously ill immediately after our return from Wizard World Chicago comic-con. The following months saw her condition roller coaster and degrade until, finally, she passed away in the first week of November. The entire process was emotionally draining, particularly for my wife and her special-needs brother. In the wake of her passing, we find ourselves the caretakers of an autistic adult, realigning our own home life, and dealing with all the loose ends Mom left behind. It has been a struggle, the ripples of which we will deal with for the foreseeable future. We are becoming accustomed to our “new normal”, though, in particular working to give a much improved quality of life to my brother-in-law.

Our plans are to focus on family and personal realignment through the holidays, and then to attack 2014 with new vigor. We love making comics, going to cons, and reveling in our world of Nerdom. You should be seeing new stuff from us very soon.

Here’s to happy and healthy holidays. Hold your loved ones close, and get ready for an exciting and prosperous New Year!
